About us

This Divine Exhortation forms the basis of the education imparted at Sri Sai Vidya Vihar. It is a fact; modern education overemphasises the role of intellect in education, forgetting all other aspects of human personality. Today’s education caters only to physical and intellectual development. Such a system may create great citizens, but what is the use if the so called great individuals are not good?

Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba says, “True education lies not in education, but in transformation of character and personality; transformation of head, heart and hands – a head full of great ideals, a heart full of love and compassion and hands ever eager to serve and assuage pain“. This statement communicates in a nutshell, the ideals of the education at Sri Sai Vidya Vihar.

Swami’s Vision on education is our mission

A school established fully on Sri Sathya Sai ideals. In other words, most important factor is moulding of character. Within a short span of seven years Sri Sai Vidya Vihar could transform, direct and guide hundreds of students.

Teachers and parents are like two wheels of a bicycle where it’s the child who is riding it. The school conducts regular sessions for teachers and parents. Role of parents are explained to them successfully and make them real role models for their children.

Education is for full blossoming of the students. They are given the opportunity to learn a lot of creative and performing arts.

Students are being nurtured to imbibe the basic values of Indian culture and Spirituality. Veda, Yoga and Balvikas sessions are part of regular curriculum. Teachers are given training in academic matters and also in methods of Value education.

As per Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s Divine Mission, education here is not a business. In many places, Saraswathi Nilayams have become centres of Mahalakshmi – Centres for making money. Here, there is no collection of donations for admission.

Teamwork is a very important trait of Sri Sai Vidya Vihar. All work here as members of one family with one single objective. Hostel life is also unique. There is total character moulding and Spiritual vibration is clear in every step.

Why Sri Sai Vidya Vihar?

We strongly feel that institutions like these are today’s vital need. When distractions are many and very forceful, more and more care and attention are needed for our students. Here education becomes something more that mere transmission of information.

How to attain this?

That is our daily schedule.
Sri Sathya Sai Baba always stresses on the fact that the End of education is character and Education is for life and not for living. In Sri Sai Vidya Vihar, we are having not mere education, but real educare. Educare is for life – creating proper way of life and not a means for getting a job.

Our Mission

The school is nothing but a Divine Expression of Godly Love and Grace of Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba,to usher in the Sri Sathya Sai era of Higher education, strongly built on the value edifice of Sathya,Dharma,Shanti,Prema and Ahimsa, fostering the Sarva Dharma Samanuvaya

Our Vision

Once, someone asked Bhagavan Baba as to why he concentrates very much on children and youth. Bhagavan replied,”It is so because it is a long term investment.”Yes, it is an investment that will reap rich dividends. It is an investment that will take the nation to the forefront.
